I dag begyndte mit længe ventede "tote restoration" projekt.
Min gamle Black Lips "Good Bad Not Evil" tote er slidt op for længst, så den skal fornyes, og heldigvis har man kreative og søde venner, der kan hjælpe en med det.

I forhold til at "kopiere" et bands merchandise, så læser jeg bandets "sweet!" re-tweet-svar, som at de synes det er helt okay, at vi laver vores egne.

Mad dagbog

Har en tendens til at tage random billeder af mad. Ved ikke om det er Roskilde food-nørderne, der smitter af eller hvad, men min indre foodie kan ikke lade være.
I dag var jeg hjemme hos en veninde, som lavede en lækker bønne salat + avocado salat og vegetar pizza til mig. Det var mega godt!

Nu når jeg er inde på mad, vil jeg også lige anbefale Kimia's suppe (Blågårdsgade 2), som jeg fik smagt i dag takket være Roxanne fra Taenkeboksen.

I dag har jeg sovet über længe, spist kage, set dårlige serier, løbet 4 km på 30 minutter (personlig rekord), og lavet en lækker brocoli tærte. Så har jeg også lavet lidt på mit nye blog-projekt, som nok kommer op og køre om 2 ugers tid. Det er en musik - kunst - kultur blog, som jeg glæder mig meget til at dele.

Jeg har ikke været til en eneste koncert i det nye år, men tilgengæld er de koncerter, der er i vente, nogle som jeg VIRKELIG glæder mig til. Den ene er Raveonettes i Koncerthuset, og så kommer min helt Lou Reed til DK igen igen, denne gang Falkoner Salen, og jeg har selvfølgelig billet!

Plademess'

I dag har jeg været på plademesse i Nørrebrohallen. Det er virkelig lang tid siden, jeg har været afsted pga. rejse og arbejde, så det var godt at være tilbage, men damn priserne på brugt vinyl er blevet høje!
Fandt dog en T.Rex plade, som var det, jeg kom efter. Så da den var købt, var jeg godt tilfreds, men fik også lige The Breeders - Pod (en af mine yndlings album), Animal Collective - Feels, Sam the Sham - Wooly Bully, og 4 andre plader med hjem.
Det er ret underholdene at snakke med og observere folk på plademessen. Gennemsnits alderen må være mindst +40, og i krogene kan man høre folk snakke om absurde folk-psych punk bands fra 70'erne, og USA pressing vs Hollandsk pres. Det er nørdet to say the least.
Hvis man har lyst til at finde ny spændende musik, og kan lide at høre vinylplader og/eller cder, så burde man tage afsted! Selv om priserne er forholdsvis høje, så kan man gøre sig nogle gode fund!

Film!

I går var jeg syg, så brugte hele min aften i sengen.
Brugte noget af tiden produktivt, og fik set både Carnage af Roman Polanski og Shame af Steve McQueen.
Er ret begejstret over begge film, dog var Carnage ekstra underholdende. De 4 hovedrolle indehavere spiller vildt godt, og dialogen er skræmmende god. Vildt at man kan få en historie, som kun udspiller sig i en lejlighed, og ikke springer i tiden, til at fungere så godt. Den skal ses!
Shame var en flot film med ret meget sex, men eftersom den handler om en mands forskruede forhold til netop sex og kvinder, så er det måske ikke så underligt. Michael Fassbender er sej, så er det sagt.

I går fik jeg endelig samlet min nye træreol, og den er perfekt til alle mine plader! Kan slet ikke forstå, at jeg har kunne have dem stående rundt omkring på gulvet i så lang tid. Jeg skal bare have købt nogle flere hylder, så alle mine bøger også kan komme frem, og til sommer skal det hele nok males, men lige nu må den stå som den er.
Mig og Ida fik også drukket kaffe og set på brugte bøger.
Fandt en Leif Panduro bog + Ung Dansk Lyrik udgivet i 1949 til 20 kr.
En bog jeg (desværre) ikke lige fik med hjem, var den geniale how-to bog, som Ida så stolt viser frem. Det skal siges, at hun heller ikke købte den, så skulle man være interesseret, er den at finde på Fiolstræde.

Nytårskur

I går var jeg til "Nytårskur" for Magasin Lyngby, som blev holdt på Danmark Akvarium i Charlottenlund. Det var vildt sjovt, og jeg havde en rigtig hyggelig aften i selskab med pigerne fra 2. sal + de andre 200 medarbejde, der var mødt meget friske op for at feste hele natten.
Jeg havde været på arbejde hele dagen + havde en fredag nat med kun 3 timers søvn, så jeg var godt nok træt, men den gode stemning smittede heldigvis af.
Aftenen endte i kælderen ved Kgs. Nytorv i Du Nord-bar, som er en fredagsbar for Magasins personale. Der var dårlig musik, men billige guldøl så vi blev til de lukkede omkring kl 5. Herligt!

I morgen flytter jeg tilbage til mit værelse i Valby. Jeg glæder mig til, at komme tilbage til en "almindelig", mere struktureret hverdag.
Siden jeg kom hjem fra USA, har jeg boet hos min far ude på landet, og sovet lidt hist og pist når jeg har været inde omkring København. Min søster kaldte det for "et nomade liv".
Det har været dejligt at komme lidt væk fra det hele, og fået lidt tid til at tænke over fremtiden, og hvad jeg nu skal bruge alle mine kræfter på. Det har også været ret svært i de stille stunder, især når jeg har kigget alle mine billeder fra turen igennem, og læst i min rejse-dagbog som jeg flittigt skrev i (i hvert fald den første måned). Det giver mig lyst til at begynde at spare op til endnu en rejse, og gøre det hele igen, men et nyt sted med nye mennesker, men når man skal studere på deltid uden SU, så er det slemt nok bare at skulle tjene til huslejen og alt det sjove, så det bliver nok et længere projekt.

Er ret optimistisk omkring det nye år, 2012, og glæder mig til at komme i gang med diverse projekter, og selvfølgelig også bloggen her.

I got picked to be a part of the food volunteer group at Roskilde Festival!
I saw they were looking for people a couple of weeks ago on their website, so I wrote a very spontaniouse e-mail telling them why I should be a part of the group and how I thought the festival could do so much better food-wise (A statement I would regret). Somehow it paid off though because I was called in for an interview Tuesday and now I'm in!
I don't know exactly what I'll be doing yet, but the two guys I spoke with made it seem really interesting and fun.
It's all about developing and improving the foodstands + food activities at the festival, and the focus is on sustainability and quality which I'm all for and I really want to add some of my ideas and input!
The group works all year around but more intensely just a few weeks before and during the festival.
The first meeting is this Sunday where we'll go through all the foodstand applications. I can't wait to see who has applied and what we have to work with.

Fuck, I haven't even thought about the fact that I will have to work during the festival....

Yesterday I got a new pair of running shoes. They are ugly but comfortable.
Today I took them for a run around the neighbourhood. It was cold but refreshing.
I'm really out of shape after over 2 months of not working out at all, drinking almost every weekend and eating a lot of delicious food + too much sugar. I should be back in shape in a 4-5 weeks though (if I follow my "training-program")

I finally found a clutch that's the perfect size and colour. It's from Monki so it was cheap! Not the best material but it will do just fine for the next few months. It even matches my new ring. A bit overkill maybe.

Yesterday I came back from America. I almost cried on the plane (actually I kind of did..) because I didn't want to leave.
It's been an amazing trip! The best 2 months and two weeks of my life and I never wanted it to end!
Eventhough I'm sad about coming home, I'm excited about seeing my family and friends. A lot of catching up to do! Come to think of it, it's actually pretty sweet being home again but I definitely have to go back to the west coast soon! I just felt really at home and at ease there. Especially Portland and San Francisco have been on my mind ever since I left... No I can't think about it, or I'll just get sad again.

Well, back to everyday life and blogging.
There are a lot of changes coming up. Stay tuned!

Monday I went to Malmöfestival with my sister. We saw NOFX, one of my favourite punk bands back in the day. They are very rude and obnoxious but I sort of love them anyways...
Great music, weather, food and our hotel was really nice and central! We stayed just next to the main shopping street.
I bought a t shirt from Weekday and an oversized black totebag from Cheap Monday and that's about it. Two items I can cross off my "Wanted"-list.

A month ago I bought a pair of AiAiAi's Tracks headphones.
I love the design and good sound quality BUT a problem occurred after just a couple of weeks. The black coat started to peel of the headband when scratched against a surface which left silver marks.
I went to the store where I had bought them and they gave me a new pair but then after a while they did the same.
Then I wrote to AiAiAi and they confirmed that it was a manufacturing fault and they told me they would start working on improving the product, and I would get a new improved headband.
That proces can take months, so I was sent 2 new ones as temporary replacements.
Thumbs up for good customer service!

Drove past Jagtvej today on my way to kickboxing (which I didn't make because I took a wrong turn) and stopped to look at one of Shepard Fairey's new murals in Copenhagen.
I get why some people are offended by it's placement and don't think the message "fits" with the history that's at Jagtvej 69/Ungdomshuset but I don't mind it. You could paint a white peace dove anywhere in the world and I wouldn't mind it.

Today I went to the first Trailerpark Festival-backstage meeting at Copenhagen Skatepark on Enghavevej. I wasn't supposed to be a part of it this year but I just couldn't stay away:)
Like last year I'm going to work backstage during the festival. It's a fun and exciting place to be but it's also hard, and I hope I can manage that + work!
Thursday I have a 9PM-4AM shift and I have to be at work Friday morning at 10PM... That'll be interesting for sure.

Check out the rad line-up for the festival. I'm most excited about YACHT, WALLS, Giana Factory, Kasper Bjorke dj-set and Peaches!
I would be excited about Figurines but I'll be hurrying home from work when they are playing:(

My roomate and one of my dearest friends is in China right now. She's been away since July 1st and I miss her!

I now work full-time as a sales assistant.
I've never worked full-time before so it feels like a lot and I can't understand how people can do it (= be a sales asistant full-time!!)? It's extremely boring!

When I'm not working I sleep, buy groceries, gaze at clothes I can't really afford online, go on ebay, try and sort out my messy appartment, meet friends, ride my bike around town when it's not raining, plan my upcoming trip to America and volunteer as webadministrator + PR person for Fremtiden vintage.
Right now I'm making a store-blog + planning an upcoming fundraiser!
I'm really excited about it but more on that later!

Yesterday me and my sister made vegetarian burritos - my current food obsession.
As "meat-filling" I use wild rice (boiled 30 min), canned kidney beans (boiled for 15 min or so) and onions fried in olive oil (10 min). Then top it off with corn, tomato, gren + yellowpepper, guacamole, salsa and cheddar cheese. Stack it on a warm tortilla and fold away! It's delicious!

This year I stayed on a boat in Roskilde Harbor during the festival. I had my bike with me so the festival grounds were only a 15 minute-ride away. It was really cosy (the weather could have been better though)!

My 7th Roskilde Festival is over! It was a good one but not great.
It was the first time not camping or attending the warm-up days, so it was a bit weird but to be honest I didn't really miss it.
For me Roskilde is all about the music and eventhough I wasn't too excited about the line-up I did see some amazing performances.
My highlight was TV on the Radio. They were sublime and I had the best time! Kurt Vile was amazing as well + We scored a front row spot which made the entire gig more awesome!
Other worthy mentions are: Weekend who were surprisingly good live, Destroyer, Foals, Pj Harvey (eventhough the concert was too short!) and finally The Strokes who blew me away once again!

Battles was dissapointing. Mostly because the audience were such buzzkills. I don't think anyone had heard the new album Gloss Drop (or even knew them) but the band gave it their best and looked happy.
Tame Impala was oddly distant and Raveonettes didn't work for me on Orange Stage. The setlist was the worst!

Will I be back next year? Probably:)

My bag is packed and I'm ready to go into festival-mode! I stopped by the camping grounds yesterday before work and I'm excited to go back!
I've packed: black t shirts, stripped jumper, Black Flag tee, white shirt, wool jumper, checkered shirt, bumbag, sunglasses, perfume, On The Road, tights, bodycon skirt, jeans and all the essentials of course (toothbrush, sunlotion, hairproducts etc)

Last night I saw Ryan Adams (solo) at DR Koncerthus in Copenhagen. The acoustic performance was amazing! Great setlist, great sound, great new songs and a witty and charming Adams who was in a surprisingly good mood. Great to see him back on stage!

Secret gig @ Skydebaneparken, Vesterbro

Friday I helped my friend Eva at Distortion. She works for the festival and was in-charge of the "festival-phone" which meant that we had to deal with anyone who wanted to get in touch with the festival.
Most of the calls were complaints from people who lived in the areas near the street-parties. The loud music and "streets-turned-toilets" were a little too much for some people and they were pissed off!
One guy yelled at me and then threatened to call the newspaper and say that I (!!??) was to blame for the loud music on his street. He was such an ass but he thought my name was Louisa, so I wasn't really concerned about getting my name in the paper.

Eventhough we were busy answering the phone, we did sneak off for about 30 minutes.
One of Eva's friends had arranged a secret gig in Skydebane Parken with a band from Portugal (I can't remember the name). He wrote the details to her 15 minutes before the gig and then we ran for it!
The turnout was us, one of the guys from Oh No Ono (who guided us to the park), a cowgirl-clown (no seriously, a cowgirl-clown!!), the guys from Gang Gang Dance and maybe about 15 other people, not including the many kids + parents who were in the park celebrating Kidsdistortion.
It was psychedelic and I loved it + the guitarist was pretty sweet!

Black Lips - Modern Art

Black Lips are releasing a new Mark Ronson (!!?) produced album, Arabia Mountain, June 7! I've only heard the first single Modern Art and so far so good.
I LOVE them and I think it would be fair to say that they are one of my favourite bands anno 2011!

My dad recently bought 3 cases of vinyl (about 300 or so) from a guy at work, so as soon as I got the opportunity I rushed home to have a look!
In total I found 52 records, too many to mention here but the most amazing finds would have to be Led Zeppelin II ('69) + III ('70) US printing in mint condition, Tommy and the Who ('69) German pressing with colourful art-booklet and The Beatles With the Beatles ('63!!) + Let it be ('70) both UK pressing in good condition!
Now I should have enough music to keep me busy the next couple of months.

Finally bought Keith Richards' autobiography Life. It's massive! 547 pages but then again, he has lived forever and surely has a lot of interesting stories to tell. I mean, it's Keith Richards!
Only 3 pages in and already there's a car full of drugs and cops left and right! Off to a good start!

Record hunting with Kurt Vile from Philly

Dreamy Chazwick Bundick

Thursday I saw the wonderful Kurt Vile + band at Lille Vega. There were some problems with the sound but all in all I enjoyed it, maybe because I love his songs so much... If you haven't heard Constant Hitmaker from 2008, go get it! I don't know how to describe it... Ehm lo-fi American heartland folk rock and long hair!
I'm definitely going to see him again at this year's Roskilde Festival and maybe at Vega Aug 30, and hopefully the sound will be better at one of the two.
Tonight I headed back to Lille Vega and saw Toro y Moi (aka Chazwick Bundick). A Friday-night + Toro y Moi is pretty much the perfect combination!
Last time I saw him + band was at Trailerpark Festival where they played an amazing gig! I also got to talk to him after the show which was pretty funny, so that is almost impossible to top but I still think the show tonight was great!

Jeg må indrømme, at jeg faktisk ikke har fået set hele filmen endnu... Jeg har hørt, at den skulle være vildt fed (og ja, det er vel en klassiker), så købte den endelig på dvd, men jeg blev altså ikke vildt imponeret, og fik derfor aldrig set den færdig. Er det mig der er noget galt med??

Rugbrøds sandwich (vegetarian) for lunch - Hummus, salat, sun dried tomatoes and pine nuts (Who needs meat?) and wall with BIG words at Danish Design Center

For the past few days I've been on lockdown. My assignement is due May 2nd and I still have a long way to go, so I'm really trying to use all/most of my time reading, researching, writing and trying to wrap my head around the subject in matter: Sustainable furniture design.
Today I went to Danish Design Centre and saw their latest exhibition Challenge Waste/Challenge Society. It's pretty much about how we can use design and innovation to (potentially) solve many of the problems we'll be faced with in the future (over consumption = more waste, poverty, over population, lack of natural resources and so on)
Very inspiring and eye-opening + it's a subject I discuss in my bachelor-project, so I got a lot of good notes and quotes that I can use to fill in those blank pages. Score.

I've overlooked Junip in the past eventhough I bought their album a while ago but now I'v finally found the time to really appreciate them. Great band!

FREMTIDEN (meaning: The future) is a vintage store on Nørrebrogade/corner of Elmegade in Copenhagen run by Red Cross and ArtRebels. It's not cheap vintage, but it's all really cool pieces that have been hand picked and gathered in one awesome place, so it saves the customer a lot of time + all the money goes to a good cause!
For the past few weeks I've been planning a small photoshoot for their webshop and it's been taking up more time than I thought.
My friend Catarina, who's running FREMITDEN, really needed help so I though why not?
Now that everything is in place I feel calmer but I'm still really nervouse about the shoot and hope everything goes as planned on Wednesday!!

Today Ida came by with a Christmas present! I haven't seen her since November last year, so it was great to finally see her again + her freaky Frankenstein hand (not good)
The book features a collection of AMAZING rare vintage "underground" band tees. My favourite is a black Dead Kennedys "too drunk to fuck" t shirt. Very punk rock! Hopefully I can find something similar when I go to the states.

Just got back from my last work-day at RUST. It was fun while it lasted but I haven't got the time for it right now. I'm going to miss the people (even the odd ones), iPod dj-ing, free drinks and food, being on a first name-basis with the doormen (that's always a +), but not the long work hours, diva-wannebe rock stars who just won't go onstage in time and carrying shit up and down all those damn staircases (if you've been at RUST you know what I'm talking about)!

After we had heard 2 (out of 3 bands I can't remember) at RUST, we went to the new and improved Stengade where The Setting Son were playing. A Danish band I actually like!

Ended up going to Demoteket's 1 year birthday-bash last night at Bolsjefabrikken.
Demoteket is an "underground library" dedicated to books, movies and music made by indiependent artists. A very good initiativ in my opinion. More info here.
There was some pretty sweet noise punk rock bands (also some obscure 80s synth music and bad noise punk rock), cheap beer and popcorn, so all in all good fun!

Today I woke up late, went for a walk, soaked up some sun, made a batch of delicious spicy apple muffins (yum) and now I have to study.

Love my new leather jacket! I wore it last night for Fastelavn (=Danish carneval where everyone dresses up in costumes) at Huset. I went as... ehm Dee Dee Ramone or something like that... I'm really not into costumes (boring I know).
I bought the jacket at Oasis where I normally don't shop but I've had my eye on it for a couple of months and when I finally tried it on, it had the perfect shape and fit + it was dead cheap concidering it's real leather, so I had to get it!

Right now I'm really busy. Good-busy, not stressed-busy, but still find time to blog inbetween it all, so that's good:)
Another good thing is the return of The Strokes. So bloody cool.

GL STRAND

Jeg elsker at gå på museer og gallerier, og et sted jeg holder særligt meget af, er GL STRAND. Derfor har jeg betalt sølle 150 kr for et års medlemskab. Billigt!
I morgen vil jeg tage ind og se voksudstillingen WAX - Sensation in Contemporary Sculpture, og bagefter skal jeg på Dansk Design Center (endnu en gang) og spise lidt frokost og læse bachelor.

Skal også have købt billet til Gang Gang Dance, som kommer til Kbh til maj!!
De er sindssygt fede, specielt live! Så dem på Roskilde 2009, og det var en af de bedste koncerter (det år)! Meget trippy.. Glæder mig til at høre det nye album, når det udkommer.
